Lightning McQueen has always been one of my favorite animated characters because his story is actually about growing up and learning to slow down. At the start of the first Cars movie he is extremely talented but also pretty arrogant and focused only on winning races. After getting stuck in Radiator Springs, he starts realizing that relationships and teamwork matter more than fame. Watching him go from a selfish rookie to someone who genuinely cares about others makes the character way more interesting than just a fast race car. Also, the racing world in the Cars movies is just fun and nostalgic to watch.
